...
And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle,
that she might fly into the wilderness,
into her place,
where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time,
from the face of the serpent.
,,,
The church fled swiftly into hiding. God's people were persecuted yet protected. We've talked of the 1260 years before and a time, times and a half a times is the same thing. It must be important to realize this date, this time frame because of the repetition. While the church was being protected, they were being protected from the evil that would destroy them.
...
And the serpent cast out of his mouth water
as a flood after the woman,
that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.
...
The serpent used many, many people to persecute Christ's people, many people. The hope was to use all those people to overwhelm and destroy, drown the few compared to the many. How often does the majority in a society overwhelm to few? Too often.
...
And the earth helped the woman,
and the earth opened her mouth,
and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
...
Think about it, religious persecution- no freedom of religion. When and where did a land of freedom emerge? Late 1400's America was discovered and from then on this great land with few people in such a vast area took in people. How many people fled from other countries to America to be free to practice their own religion? Martin Luther began the Protestant movement and as the scriptures were opened for people they realized the truth and the earth(a place of few people compared to the seas of people) opened up and protected God's people.
...
And the dragon was wroth with the woman,
and went to make war with the remnant of her seed,
which keep the commandments of God,
and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
...
Satan won't give up, he has no reason to give up. He's lost and his only goal is to make the number of God's people as small as he can. The satisfaction he receives from depriving God of even one person is the only satisfaction he gets. Until Christ returns Satan will work hard, using his wrath to war with God's people and the description of God's people is given...
Those which KEEP the commandments of God
and
have the TESTIMONY of Jesus Christ.
May God bless and keep us in Him. May we Keep God's commandments and have the testimony of Jesus Christ fully.
By the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ may we live in Him now and forever, His. Trusting in His protection forever.
Amen.

Heb 8:6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
Heb 8:7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.
Heb 8:8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
Heb 8:9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
Is God long suffering?
Exo 34:5 And the LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD.
Exo 34:6 And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth
Psa 86:15 But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.
Rom 2:4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
God IS long suffering. Yet that long suffering does not mean unending suffering. When you suffer long you endure for a LONG time, not forever without end. If a person endures an abusive relationship they endure it until it's over- the relationship has ended, or until they're dead.
Long suffering, you suffer only as long as there is something to suffer from. God is LONG suffering towards humanity. Looking at His people- the descendants of Abraham- God heard their cry and answered it, sending a deliverer in Moses to take them from the captivity of the Egyptians to freedom in Him.
With His people freed God sets up a covenant with them. He will watch over them, He will be their God and they will be His people IF they accept and follow His covenant- something they PROMISED to do.
Yet we read this…
Heb 8:8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
Heb 8:9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
BECAUSE they continued NOT in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
The covenant is broken and when a covenant is broken the promises are no longer valid. Why would God regard a people who do not hold up to their promises? God, knowing the condition of man - knew that sin would not disappear. God gave them a way to understand that with sinning comes a penalty. Again, God is long suffering but sin has to end. For sin to end there need to be a covenant that could not been done away with- a final covenant, a perfect covenant, a NEW covenant doing away with the old, a more excellent ministry would be introduced.
Let me ask you something- does doing away with something old mean that the something new contains nothing of the old? As a rule when we get something new it's something that has its origin in something old. A new HDTV -television set for example. The newness comes from the fact it is introducing a new technology- HDTV. The fact it's a television is old. I'm not saying there aren't new inventions- and that everything didn't at one time have to be discovered or invented. Harnessing electricity, producing plastic… each has it's beginning, but those beginnings exist from something already existing. NOT one thing has been created from NOTHING, from thin air, or no air-- you know what I mean.
The point I'm trying to make here is --a better covenant was to be made, a new covenant from the old. A better covenant, a changed covenant.
Being extreme, people like to imagine that Jesus came and DID away with EVERYTHING pertaining to the previous covenant, that's not true.
The older covenant had laws administered to the people by priests.
The new covenant- the better covenant has the laws administered to the minds and hearts of the people.
The older covenant relied upon a sacrificial system.
The new covenant relies upon One Sacrifice for all.
The laws were NOT totally wiped out with the new covenant. The administering of the laws was changed. The need of a Sacrifice was NOT totally wiped out, the Perfect Sacrifice was made and is applicable for us.
Heb 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
Heb 8:11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
Heb 8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
Heb 8:13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.
The new covenant….fully realized will NOT be done away with, ever! The new covenant has promises that will NEVER be done away with. The new covenant with its better ways will last through eternity.
Fully realized without sin- the Lord will be to US a God and we to Him a people. There will be NO separation between us, none!
The new covenant replaces the old, the old covenant had fault, the new covenant would have NO fault.
Heb 8:6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
A MORE EXCELLENT MINISTRY- Jesus has obtained this. Jesus is the mediator of a better covenant, established upon BETTER promises.
A covenant will forever exist between God and man.
COVENANT, n. [L, to come; a coming together; a meeting or agreement of minds.]
COVENANT, v.i. To enter into a formal agreement; to stipulate; to bind ones self by contract. A covenants with B to convey to him a certain estate. When the terms are expressed it has for before the thing or price.
COVENANT, v.t. To grant or promise by covenant.
God and man- Creator and creature. A covenant does away with that which separates God and man. A covenant allows the breach that separation created to be closed.
Christ is THE MEDIATOR of a better covenant.
MEDIA'TOR, n. One that interposes between parties at variance for the purpose of reconciling them.
The work of our Mediator in the heavenly sanctuary is important to understand and we will continue to study God's word and pray for enlightenment. May God bless us as we seek Him fully, by the grace of Jesus Christ our SAVIOR in all ways, in all things!
Amen.

Let's slowly read
through the same verses we historically dissected yesterday before we start
to delve deeply into them
again.
Rev 10:1 And I saw another mighty angel come
down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his
face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire:
Rev 10:2 And he had in his hand a little book
open and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth
Rev 10:3 And cried with a loud voice, as when a
lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices.
Rev 10:4 And when the seven thunders had uttered
their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto
me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.
Rev 10:5 And the angel which I saw stand upon
the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven,
Rev 10:6 And sware by him that liveth for ever
and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth,
and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein,
that there should be time no longer
Rev 10:7 But in the days of the voice of the
seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be
finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.
Rev 10:8 And the voice which I heard from heaven
spake unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the
hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth.
Rev 10:9 And I went unto the angel, and said
unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up;
and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.
Rev 10:10 And I took the little book out of the
angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon
as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.
Rev 10:11 And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy
again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.
Rev 11:1 And there was given me a reed like unto
a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the
altar, and them that worship therein.
Rev 11:2 But the court which is without the
temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the
holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.
Rev 11:3 And I will give power unto my two
witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days,
clothed in sackcloth.
Rev 11:4 These are the two olive trees, and the
two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.
Rev 11:5 And if any man will hurt them, fire
proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will
hurt them, he must in this manner be killed
Rev 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the
words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book
of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this
book.
Rev 11:9 And they of the people and kindreds and
tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and
shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.
Rev 11:10 And they that dwell upon the earth
shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another;
because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.
Rev 11:11 And after three days and an half the
Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and
great fear fell upon them which saw them.
Rev 11:12 And they heard a great voice from
heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a
cloud; and their enemies beheld them.
Rev 11:13 And the same hour was there a great
earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were
slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to
the God of heaven.
Rev 11:14 The second woe is past; and, behold,
the third woe cometh quickly.

It sounds
amazing! So incredibly amazing! It is PROPHECY.
A beast is not
always simply a beast.
A crown is not
always simply a crown.
A star is not
always simply a star.
Waters are not
always simply waters.
Earth is not

Remember in the
book of Daniel how grieved Daniel was because he couldn't understand the things
he was being shown? He'd see these INCREDIBLE visions given him by God and he'd
be just as confused as we are when we read them, more so really because He
didn't have the wealth of Biblical knowledge we have at our fingertips. We have
such a fantasic source of information available to us as we study prophecy. As
Daniel wrote what he saw and lived in a state of confusion from what he witness
we can only imagine his thoughts, his passion to understand. He prayed hard and
sacrificed much just to hopefully, prayerfully get answers. An angel was sent
to him and opened Daniel's understanding at least to a degree. The angel also
told Daniel that the book would be closed up- that it wouldn't be understood
not until it was the proper time.
We have this
amazing book- the Bible - and it's filled with prophecy starting right in the
beginning and going all the way unto the end, no matter what order you believe
the Bible should be read in. The Bible is not only filled with prophecy but
history that in and of itself reveals God's plans for mankind over and over
again - which become historical prophecy. We can look back at history- actual
history -actual lives of people who lived just assuredly as you and I are alive,
as our parents are or were alive and our grandparents and their parents and so
on. No one can dispute our historical fact, no one. Do you dispute your own
existence or the existence of your parents and so on? We can't. Our amazing God
guided the lives of people who loved Him and those lives that were guided so
amazing have been recorded for our learning, for our understanding of how
wondrous our God is! We can look at so much in the Bible and see a guiding force
beyond anything that we can fully comprehend and yet people refuse to believe!
People still doubt! People would rather believe in false gods that have nothing
to show them, nothing at all. People would rather worship the sun and moon than
a living God, the Creator of the sun and moon!
This book of
Revelation is filled with cryptic
imagery that is given to us for a reason. Our Savior instructed us to WATCH and to
PRAY. Our Savior gave us PROPHECY,
prophecy came from the lips of our Savior. Our Savior mentioned the prophet
Daniel.
Mat 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the
abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy
place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
We were pointed
to Daniel by Jesus and in Revelation Jesus points us back to Daniel using John
as His prophet to give us His message.
We are supposed to study prophecy. We are blessed when we study prophecy,
so why do we neglect it so much? Why do we give up because we find it
incomprehensible? Why do we not search it over and over again, praying all while
for our eyes to be opened. Jesus
WANTS us to comprehend! Jesus wants us to be blessed! When we are given various
meanings for prophecies given we HAVE a duty to search the Scriptures and find
out where the truth exists in those meanings. We could be given a thousand
different interpretations and it is our duty to examine those interpretations to
see if they do fit into God's plan. Is my interpretation correct? Is my
following the interpretations of another correct? God will guide me to know the
truth I have to believe this just as every single one of us has to seek the
truth for ourselves.
We are going to
go through this section of prophecy slowly because so many people believe that
the 'two witnesses' are suppose to be real men, real angels, real figures that
show up and these people are waiting for them! Is it possible there will be these
special witnesses? I believe the devil can impersonate angels of light, my Bible
tells me so. I firmly believe the prophecy fits so much more perfectly when we
understand the witnesses to be figures of the Old and New Testament and how
throughout our history the Bible has been abused over and over.
Like I said, I want to study this more, much more closely all by the
grace of God! All by His love, through His righteousness, His mercy, His
grace!
Amen.
Heb 8:6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
Heb 8:7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

Heb 8:9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

Again, God is long suffering but sin has to end. see if they do fit into God's plan.
All by His love, through His righteousness, His mercy, His
grace!
Amen.
