We do not have power over life and death. Yes, we can do things to bring death and in that sense we have the power, but ultimately we are under the authority of our Creator- He allows life and death to occur by whatever means it happens to take. We also have the ability, some more than others, to save lives. A person taking a life may believe they have that power, but it is only by God's allowance that they can use that power. The same with saving life, God allows it and that is the only way it can occur. This is where many start to question God and why He allows horrific torture and deaths to occur, why some lives are saved and others not. His only begotten Son met a very cruel last day filled with torture and ultimately death in a vile manner, and God the Father allowed this to happen. The Son even called out to God the Father, asking why he'd been forsaken by Him because the death of the Son was that of complete and utter separation from God- the death that ALL of us warrant. That is the DEATH that Jesus took on for US, He took OUR death, and as such He had to be completely cut off from the Father in every way- just as we would be if He hadn't died for us! Jesus was allowed this death, this horrific death even though the power of the Father could have prevented His suffering. Things are allowed for reasons BEYOND our comprehension. Us human beings though, insist on trying to reason things out. We make up our own rules, we label truth that isn't real truth. We give a reason for something and then believe that negates God's influence. We constantly change the truth into a lie all because we want to boost our own egos by considering ourselves superior beings. We want to believe we are our own gods. We want would rather die eternally than suffer the thought that we believe in something we consider foolish, and unreal. Rather than believe, rather than hope in our believing- we insist upon unbelief- we emphatically insist upon holding fast to our unbelief to what end? It proves nothing to insist on unbelief. However, believing, truly believing gives the hope of all eternity! Yet we constantly want to change truth into a lie! Constantly.
May God help us to only KNOW and BELIEVE in HIS TRUTH, never changing truth into a lie or lies into truth. God save us! All through the glory, the honor, the praise, the forgiveness of the SON JESUS CHRIST!

'Changing the Truth into a Lie.
"There is no power but of God." g
Rom_13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
In nature we see the manifestation of mighty power, but it is the working of God.
All the different forms of force which philosophers name, and which they declare to be inherent in matter, are but the working of the life of God in the things that he has made. Christ is "before all things, and by him all things consist," or hold together. Col. 1:17.
Col 1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
Cohesion therefore is but the direct power of the life of Christ. Gravitation also is the same power, as we read of the heavenly bodies, "for that he is strong in power; not one faileth." Isa. 40:26.
Isa 40:26 Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.
But men looked upon all the operations of nature, and, instead of seeing the power of the one supreme God in them, they attributed divinity to the things themselves.
So, as they looked upon themselves; and saw what great things they could achieve, instead of honoring God as the giver and upholder of all things, the One in whom they lived and moved and had their being, they assumed that they themselves were by nature divine. Thus they changed the truth of God into a lie.
Rom_1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
The truth is that the life and power of God are manifested in everything that he has made; the lie is that the force which is manifest in all things is inherent in the things themselves.
So men put the creature in the place of the Creator.'
May God help us to only KNOW and BELIEVE in HIS TRUTH, never changing truth into a lie or lies into truth. God save us! All through the glory, the honor, the praise, the forgiveness of the SON JESUS CHRIST!
