Faith- the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Faith- the truth of faith is what we hope in, our belief stems from things we do not see, things that are invisible.
When we see the invisible it is through faith.
Right now as you read this you have faith in tomorrow- something you cannot see. You have faith in the next moment, the next hour, the next half day- you believe it will happen and you plan your life believing in your tomorrows- things you cannot see but hope to experience. You have hope in tomorrow, you have faith- you are believing in something you have no evidence of being a reality for you. For a lot of people it isn't realized- they die, but with a lot of those who die will die with that hope of tomorrow.
If you realize that you have faith already in something that can be elusive as tomorrow- you can believe further in the invisible because you know you already have experienced what faith is and faith realized. Each day that passes you have experience the evidence of something that was once unseen. Believing in God, knowing that Jesus Christ died so we could live and experience eternal life with Him after He returns to take us with Him, is a reality of faith that WILL one day be something we live in- it isn't now, it's invisible to us- but it will be.
Faith in the invisible is not illogical, it's not stupid, it's not ignorance, it's not absurd at all- it's real, it's truth.
We need to believe, we need to hope.

'Seeing the Invisible.
It is said of Moses that "he endured, as seeing him who is invisible." Heb. 11:27.
Heb 11:27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.
This was not a privilege peculiar to Moses. Every other man may do the same thing. How? Because the "invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made."
Rom_1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse
There has not been a time since the world was created when all men did not have the knowledge of God within their grasp.
"Lord, how thy wonders are displayed
Where'er I turn my eye!
If I survey the ground I tread,
Or gaze upon the sky.
"There's not a plant or flower below
But makes thy glories known."
Eternal Power and Divinity.
The invisible things of God that are known by the things that are made are his everlasting power and divinity. "The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth his handiwork." Ps. 19:1.
Jesus Christ is "the power of God." 1 Cor. 1:24.
1Co 1:24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God
"For in him were all things created, in the heavens and upon the earth, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things have been created through him, and unto him; and he is before all things, and in him all things consist." Col. 1:16,17.
"He spake, and it was." Ps. 33:9.
He is "the firstborn of all creation." Col. 1:15.
He is the source, or beginning, of the creation of God. Rev. 3:14.
Rev 3:14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God
That is to say, all creation springs from Christ Jesus, who is the power of God. He spoke the worlds into existence from his own being. Therefore the external power and divinity of God are impressed upon everything that has been made. We can not open our eyes, we can not even feel the breeze upon our face, without having a clear revelation to us of the power of God. (E.J. Waggoner)
