Acquainted With Grief.
My Savior knows my grief, He carries the weight of the world.
My Savior knows my sorrow, He's wept.
My Savior knows my pain, He offers His throne of grace.
My Savior bids me kneel, He covers me in mercy.
My Savior's grace is mine, He helps in my time of need.
Here one moment, gone the next, what a black void has expanded in your wake. A glance to your chair, to the space you lived in, the darkness grows. "I have a question for you!" I cry out! You had answers, so many, many answers. In the silence no answers. So much of me was you. My solace, my Savior. Praise God, all glory to God in the highest! He knows my pain and He gives comfort. Heal my broken heart, Lord, please, heal this broken heart.
Isa 53:3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Our Savior, a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief…
Isa 53:4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
He has borne our griefs.
Heb 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Jesus knows, He knows our pain, our grief. Jesus knows that we must come to him in our time of need. We find mercy, we find help!
Heb 5:7 Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;
Heb 5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
Heb 5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
Heb 5:10 Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.
Jesus learned obedience by the things which He suffered. Jesus suffered.
We don't like to picture Jesus suffering outside of the time leading up to and during His crucifixion, and even then we don't 'like' to imagine our Savior in pain of any sort.
Our Savior suffered emotionally. Our Savior knew grief! Our Savior knew loss of loved ones in His life. He didn't spare His earthly father Joseph from death. Throughout His 33 years of life He had to have others in His life who died, and were sick. It wasn't until the last three years of His life that He began to heal the sick. Jesus saw suffering, He witnessed the pain of others and is it too farfetched to believe He suffered Himself- skinned knees perhaps?
Acquainted with grief. Acquainted with my grief. He gives me His strength, I have none of my own.
Thank you, Lord Jesus. Thank you! All in Your love, in Your mercy, Your grace forever and ever! Amen!!!!!!!
