John 16:27
27 For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.
*
So much love.
The Father himself loves us.
Why?
Because we love Jesus, and we believe he is of him.
How magnificent is that? God loves us because we love Jesus and believe he came from him.
How could we not love Jesus?
*
John 3:16
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
*
Everlasting life through the love of Jesus.
*
Luke 18
29 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God's sake,
30 Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting.
*
John 3
36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
*
John 5
24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
*
John 6
27 Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
*
How marvelous it is to imagine everlasting life, yet on the other hand...
Can you ever imagine not being?
Not existing?
Sure, you can imagine it, but even as you're imagining it you are alive to use that imagination.
We really cannot comprehend not existing, because we do exist.
It's one of those things that are paradoxical.
We can imagine living forever and ever without end for we are alive.
The promise of everlasting life, a life of no pain, no sorrow, no heartache .
Such a wonderful thing to imagine.
How do we get this wonderful everlasting life?
Through Jesus.
*
What do we as humans need, some blatantly, others secretly, some subtly?
What is that one thing we all need?
To be loved.
You could deny this claim. You could even deny it and claim you're one who has no need of love. You could point fingers to others who claim they don't want or need to be loved. You might even find those who cling adamantly to the desire to be left alone entirely, who would run from love. Yet, there is an innate need in us to be loved, even if it's a need refuted, a need buried, a need despised.
Even the most dispicable person in existence is born with the need to be loved.
*
Can I prove what I'm saying?
Is there a scientific study somewhere to delve into this so I can spout facts and figures at you?
No.
At least if there is one, I know nothing of it and have never tried to find out.
Where do I get off claiming something on such a grand scale?
How dare I try to speak for all humanity?
My authority is God Himself. He gives me this right.
*
1 John 4:8
8 .... God is love.
*
God is love.
We all need God.
Therefore we all need love.
The desire for love is embedded within us and yet we so often confuse love with the worldly image of love and not what it truly is suppose to be, which leaves us inevitably feeling lost, alone, empty, living a meaningless life, a loveless life.
But, you exclaim, you have love. You feel loved. You know you're loved by your family, your friends, your mate and yet that love is imperfect. That love is prone to flaws. That love often lets us down. That love is conditional.
If God is Love we need to know God, to know love.
We can't look at worldly love and claim that as having love, not and know it's truly the love we need.
Putting our hopes in things of this world just doesn't work.
*
Matthew 6
19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
1 John 2
15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
*
God is love,
We need love.
We need God.
God is the answer, the only answer.
*
John 14
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
John 14
23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
*
Love truly is the answer.
Out of love our actions are made.
We need God.
We need love.
If we choose to know God, to love God only then can we know love.
Seems a bit sketchy does it?
We need God to know how to love God and if God is love... yes, it can be confusing.
Choosing to know God is the key.
We can choose to know whatever we want. We can study any thing. We can choose to gain a great education in many ways. Choosing to know God is the best thing anyone will ever do in life. Learn of him, know of his love. Accept him into your life and you really will know love, his love which surpasses any love of the world.
Does knowing and loving God prempt us from life's trials and tribulations? Quite the opposite.
There is a battle going on that is unseen. A battle we're all a part of.
There is no sign up sheet to join.
No links to click on and information to give to join this battle.
We have no enlistment center.
We are all in the battle, born into it by being born into the world.
We do get to choose a side though.
God's side or Satan's.
Whose side will you choose to be on?
The side where everlasting life in the love of God is known or the side of death, of non-existence, the side of Satan.
There is no middle ground, no place to run to so you don't have to choose a side, that place doesn't exist. We all have to choose.
Revelation 12
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Joshua 24
15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
