Striving to belong, yet sensing that in striving we shouldn't need to do so. The mere act of striving indicates something that hasn't come naturally and isn't so as of yet, striving is an action being committed.
Sensing our existence is foreign to that which should be. We tick off upon our fingers the ways in which we believe things should be different for us. We grasp for what seem to be impossible answers, clinging to those that tell us 'IF ONLY'. One of the most popular answers being- 'If only I had more money.' Money would seeming set us straight in a crooked world that runs upon contentedness and satisfaction being found in being able to afford all we need to survive without striving to survive.
If we had no worries about having a roof over our heads now and for the rest of our lives. If we had no worries about being able to afford food necessary to live upon, but not necessarily excess for wants. If we had access to a doctor or hospital from this moment until the day we die without the thought- 'I can't afford to get that checked out, no money for tests, and if I had money for tests I'd have no money for treatment.' If we could go to a dentist regularly (as told to) because it was affordable to do so. If we could be guaranteed a job of some king- not necessarily the kind we'd enjoy. Money we tend to believe is the straightener of the crooked existence we live in.
Do you see- money means affording all the above.
The person who can afford a roof over their heads without worries about rent, mortgage, insurance, taxes, utilities-- what a relief! Now they can spend their time thinking about striving to belong in other ways.
I say that, I mean that, because no matter rich or poor that sense of not fitting in, that this world, that this life is one big rip off, remains among the richest of people especially as life slowly unwinds for them and they are facing the death that comes to rich and poor without bias.
All the money in the entire world, all the ease of life in the entire world will not stop a heart from giving out- even if it's a heart that has been transplanted and is fifty years younger than the rest of the aged body, it will not keep the aged from succumbing to a body that has run out of time. The people who have lived the oldest in the world, are not those whose money has been able to give them the finest health care in existence.
Ah, too long a read, I know I sense that too as I just ramble on and on… and on.
So, what is it? What is that answer for us who strive to make this world habitable to our souls? Do we stop looking at artificial answers such as that money one and for once comprehend that there has to be other answers?
Do we recognize that we are not meant to feel at home here in this inhospitable soul destroying world?
We scream out! We yell! We rage against the unhappiness of our inner being!
We wonder why, when we are told we should not be unhappy, why we are so incredibly sad and we try to come up with excuses, legitimate or not, why we are locked in our bubble world of internal agony. We want to be different, we don't want our spirit weeping within us because we know we weren't meant for this anguish, that it's a burden that is upon us unjustly.
We are STRANGERS in our existence. We are PILGRIMS to this world!
As strangers we find ourselves in a constant struggle to fit in, as the world screams at us to STOP being a stranger and adapt to your existence! As pilgrims we have journeyed beyond the lands of our lives- knowing no matter how far we physically travel- there is no land upon this world that will give our souls, our spirits, our minds true rest, not for long, not for the entire existence of our lives here.
We grapple with the elusive peace we find in snippets along the searching, each time hoping maybe this time we've found a home. Then inevitably it hits us once more as the peace gives way to internal turmoil and we are set at sea again- strangers even in a place we once found peace, pilgrims in search of yet enough elusive island of contentedness to rest our minds upon for a short while, knowing it's an island that is slowly sinking and it too will eventually disappear- in a day, a week, a month, year…or in minutes.
This is why I know beyond any shadow of a single doubt whatsoever, and scoff if you must, that I'm a stranger and pilgrim here and I'm not meant to EVER feel like I belong here and that I'm at home, NOT EVER. I'm not supposed to have any peace whatsoever at all from this world.
This is why I know beyond any supposed fact thrown in my face, that my true home is with God the Father and with my Savior Jesus Christ in heaven!
I KNOW where I belong, where I'll fit in, where money won't exist, where any need of money won't exist, where I will not even have to face death that this existence upon earth guarantees me.
That place our souls and our spirits long for ISN'T in this world and I praise GOD that no matter our circumstances we are ALLOWED to feel the discontent of our hearts here.
We have an adversary who has been shut out of heaven, who wants all of us shut out at well and he's done, and is doing, a fantastic job of making it so that few will find their heavenly home.
He's even deceived most people into believing they are guaranteed heaven upon death, that it's just a fact of life. As long as most believe in that guarantee, they've no reason to think about such things as heaven- they can concentrate on trying to fit in here for the time they are allotted. They can keep on striving for their happiness now while they're waiting for that future guarantee. Satan has even deceived horrifically some despondent people into believing if they hasten their deaths they hasten their entrance to heaven-- it doesn't work that way at all whatsoever and that's why it's called deception. Our God has told us that Jesus Christ is returning to get us, not for us to kill ourselves thinking we'll quicken our trip to heaven.
Jesus IS going to RETURN, and from the sky above call for us to come to Him!
He's going to even call those who have died- all the way back to Abel, to come forth to meet Him in the air! Wherever all the particles are that make up each and every person who has died in the last almost 6000 years, they will be coalesced and transformed into incorruptible beings- you know, those being we know deep inside of us that we were meant to be- immortal, incorruptible.
If you're laughing and saying it's impossible, then you don't know God.
Jesus is coming again and whether we are alive or dead in HIM, as belonging to HIM because by faith in HIM, we are saved- we will RISE to meet Him in the air and we will go with Him to our heavenly city that has been prepared for us.
I live with this HOPE, I have FAITH which is the substance of things HOPED for, and the evidence of things NOT seen! I do this because everything inside me screams that this world and all its answers are false, and only Christ Jesus is truth! I can search for answers upon earth, for a place upon earth, a state of being upon earth for as long as I live and I will not find a single place mentally, emotionally or physically that will give me what I have in the future HOPE of living with Jesus Christ, gives to me.
God help us ALL to find our HEAVENLY HOME right now! The hope of that heavenly home, the placing of all our treasure in heaven right this second!
We are told in this world we WILL have tribulation- we are also told Christ Jesus overcame the world.
TRIBULATION is a guarantee for us in this world. If you're experiencing tribulation in mind, body, spirit, soul, don't be surprised- it's guaranteed. Peace is only truly found in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
Joh_16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
1Pe 2:11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul
Heb_11:13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
1Ch_29:15 For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as were all our fathers: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is none abiding.
Joh_14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
