Joh_6:38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
Jesus had a yoke, a burden that He wanted to share with us. Jesus came down from heaven and He did that so He could do the will of the Father. Jesus did NOT come to earth to do His own will.
Imagine if you would, Jesus as God with God in heaven - the two are communing together about the plan of salvation. God with God. Jesus without a human body, Jesus without flesh, Jesus only Spirit. There He is, God with God and the decision is made for Him to take on the flesh and bones of a human being. Could there have been a bit of discussion about what sort of flesh and bones human being He would become? There were two types to choose from after all. Humans before the Fall and humans after the Fall. While some will instantly say that Jesus had to take on the human flesh before the Fall, let's look at a few scriptures on the subject.
Php 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Php 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
Php 2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
Php 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross
Heb 4:14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
Heb 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Humans before the Fall did not have to humble themselves and become obedient unto death. The death sentence for humans only came after their Fall.
Jesus, our high priest, was in ALL points tempted like as we are.
Like as we are. We are not tempted as the two humans before the Fall, we can't be, it's impossible. We inherited a nature inclined towards sin. The first human beings were not inclined towards sin, they did not live with sin weakened flesh. If Jesus was tempted like we are, He would have to be like we are. Jesus was born with sin weakened flesh, inclined towards sin- the form of a slave- yet even with this degraded state of humanity- He, through God, was able to keep from falling to that inclination. Jesus sinned not- not because He wasn't able to be tempted from our low vantage point, but because He overcame in spite of the inclination! Jesus had a burden and He overcame that burden and tells us that He wants us to share His burden. The only way possible for Jesus to overcome His burden was through God the Father. And if we're going to learn of Jesus we must learn about His complete reliance upon the Father in heaven. He did nothing without His Father. (More on this tomorrow by the grace of our LORD. All in His love!)

Mat 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Mat 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
May we learn of Him!
